The NC Medicaid Program

 

The NC Medicaid Program is designated for low-income individuals and families. It covers hospital visits, medical care, vision care, nursing home care, and of course, dental care. But finding the right Medicaid dentist can be tricky, and unfortunately, your preferred dentist may not accept Medicaid. There are resources available online for locating dentists enrolled in the program, and at Altmann & Porter, we can help you to find the right dentist as well.

Assessing Your Eligibility for Medicaid

 

Medicaid serves low-income individuals, including parents, children, seniors, and people living with disabilities. In order to be eligible for Medicaid, you must be a U.S. citizen (or provide proof of eligible immigration status), a resident of North Carolina, and have a Social Security number. If you have received Supplemental Security Income, Work First Family Assistance, or State/County Special Assistance, you are automatically eligible for Medicaid. See the Medicaid Eligibility Chart.
